Douglas Shanks

Douglas Shanks joined us as National Tax Sales Partner in July 2008. After a successful career with Levy Gee as an Equity Partner and Head of New Business, Douglas left Numerica where he was Group Sales Director to start his own firm.  Reluctant to compete directly with his former partners, Douglas and his team had focussed on International Tax Planning and cross border compliance, so bringing very real technical skills with them, over and above sales and marketing.  His previous firm had also specialised in remedial work for other accountants and their clients, and so have cultural similarities with BTG Tax.
 
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Douglas now feels ready for a new challenge within a larger firm, refocussing on sales and marketing, leaving his team to continue to specialise in the international and remedial fields.
